Bon Appetite!
With five small very ripe bananas and a bowl of blue berries I needed to make use of... I baked up this recipe minus the spices and plus the additional fruit. The result was extra moist and extra tasty, especially when paired with lemon curd and some good vanilla ice cream, like Trader Joe's French Vanilla.
Speaking of yummy treats, if you have not already, treat yourself to the delectable Julie & Julia, a must for all foodies! I have not enjoyed a movie this much in forever, I did not want it to end! Especially Meryl Streep's wonderful, charming and sexy (yes sexy!) portrayal of Julia Child! Five big stars ✯✯✯✯✯!

It is probably not too bad since I use low fat sour cream instead of butter.... ;)
This looks so good!
I picked up the book Julie & Julia forever ago in the bargain books section at a Borders. I started reading it, but never finished it for some reason.. I think I'll have to pick it up again before I see the movie (which I definitely will)!
I'd see the movie first, since it is actually based on two books, that one and "My Life in France" by Julia Child (link is on my side bar) and I think you will still enjoy the book after seeing the movie.
Went to Borders and bought a copy of Julie & Julia -- lovin' it. I'm entertained. ;D
'My Life in France' is next on my reading list. I saw it at Borders today and was tempted to get it, but decided with Ms. Powell's first since I want to read it first before watching the movie!
Looks yummy...I love the combination of blueberries and lemon, add bananas and YUM!
I'm looking forward to seeing Julie & Julia. Lara, are there any inappropriate scenes in it that wouldn't be suitable for my 9 y/o? She loves cooking and I thought it might be fun to see this with her.
Unfortunately I just went to look for My Life in France for my Kindle...and it's currently unavailable. I hope it'll pop back up soon.
I do not think so, there are some mild love scenes but no nudity or anything... just the couples kind of falling into bed.
I think it would be ok for her.
I saw that too, was just discussing it on the KB since I started a thread to recommend it! Not sure why, I downloaded it on Monday, maybe someone found a problem with it and reported it?
Great, I think Marisa would love to see it ;-))
The only thing I noticed about the book was the large file for only 300+ pages. Did you notice any formatting problems? Hopefully it'll get sorted out soon. Hehe, I have got to get over to KB, haven't visited there in a few weeks ;-0
The movie was so entertaining and inspiring. I usually want to read the book(s) first but I couldn't wait to see the movie. And now I can't wait to read the books. This recipe looks yummy I will have to try it.
YUM!
I adored the movie!!! It was perfect. Meryl was fantastic. I now want to go read Paul Child's book and Mastering the Art of...and read all of Julia's letters to Avis and......
That movie was about love, food, Paris, going after your dreams and working hard. Good stuff! I left the movie wanting to find a lover, cook, and create art!
