My Toy Store
Sam Flax in Atlanta is one of those places that just makes me happy. Not only is it packed with needful things, it is full of inspiration. I will actually just roam the isles and get ideas. As I have mentioned, I love stationary goods and there is lots of that here including the beautiful calendar by Papaya above. They also carry a variety of inkjet papers, canvases, painting supplies, frames, art books, scrap booking supplies plus an array of cases and portfolios. There is also a professional framing department and a consultation area for ordering invitations and other personalized items.
On my most recent trip last week I needed a frame for a pretty Ruben Toledo illustration I was given many years ago. I had it tacked to the wall without any protection, which is not wise. I picked up a simple wide black frame but miscalculated the image size so the precut mat was too small. I flipped it and attached the picture with decorative japanese masking tape. I am pretty happy with the result.

I live less than 1/2 mile from Sam Flax and, therefore, spend way more time (and money) in there than I should. Love, love, love Sam Flax!!!
Why can't they have that wonderful shop where I live?? Probably saving me some money though without it. I love stores like that. Just walking through ignites creativity and project ideas.
