Family Album ❧ Winifred

My Grandmother, Winifred, or Winnie to her friends would have been 99 last week. The second youngest of seven children, she was an interesting, complex and sometimes difficult woman.I discovered the photos above, after her death, until these I had only ever seen her as a young child or adult. Never inbetween, it was exciting to see her at different stages. In her locket... her future; my Grandfather {with his pipe} and her only child, my Mother.

This stunning photo booth image, my favorite, was also a recent find and I am guessing she was about 17. The crosses were also hers as is all the jewelry in the first image.

She is the child standing in front of her mother in the group shot. Her younger sister "Tiny" has her head turned from the camera. Then a favorite photo of my Mom as a teenager, she is on the right, camping in a dress!

I've just discovered your blog and I was drawn in by the lovely photos of your Grandmother - I love the way you have so beautifully captured her memory. My gran will be 99 too in May but I am lucky enough that she is still well and very much a part of our lives.
xx
