The Craft of Cacao

I discoveredCacao while shooting a job for the December issue ofConde Nast Traveler. Tucked away in a loft space in theInman Park area ofAtlanta, it is part chocolate factory, part store front, part café. Owner and artisan chocolate maker, Kristen Hard has been called a "maverick" byAtlanta Magazine for bringing a fearless spin to her unique creations.

Owner, Chocolatier Kristen Hard

Strictly for hardcore chocolate addicts that can appreciate her meticulously crafted and distinctive wares. These flavors are as far from our standard American chocolate as you can get. To think, her passion grew from frustration over the limitations of her firstEasy Bake Oven

Sipping chocolate with handmade marshmallow

Kristen does not stop at truffles and bon bons. Exotic hot chocolates, baked goods and handmade ice cream are just a few of the other items to be had. There is even a modest bar area and outdoor seating available tempting one to linger.

Mini cupcakes or perhaps a golden egg...

She also makes specialty holiday items like gold dusted ornaments. As a special incentive, only for Pie readers from now till December 31st, visit her shop, mention "Piewacketand get 15% off your purchase. If you are not in Atlanta, do not despair, the new full commerceCacao website launches on Thursday.

I just discovered your blog from a link on "A Photo Editor" and I have to say, I love it! I have seen a lot of photo blogs and most just don't hold my interest. You are really doing something different and not only is it original as a photo blog but as a design blog too! I read a lot of these and most regurgitate other editorial content. I can see the work you have put into each post. This one is exceptionally stunning.
