Simple & Sweet

Small vintage napkins can make kawaii curtain tie backs. I had tried it as a temporary fix but liked it so much it has become permanent. Below you can also see two of my favorite finds... a Heywood-Wakefield dresser I bought for a steal on eBay. The other is the small cabinet I use as a bedside table. It is from Russell Wright's American Modern line and is pretty rare. Many believe his furniture was the inspiration for the later Wakefield pieces, which may be why they work well together.

  Have a wonderful weekend!

Love seeing little bits of how you decorate your house Lara...thanks for letting us "in." Have a great weekend!

BTW...I chose a red cashmere sweater from Sandpiper...it is soooo soft :-) Thanks again!

Thanks for reminding me of the wonderful napkins and tablecloths I have from the 1920s - 1950s I have in my linen press. Many were hand embroidered by my late Nana; others I have just collected.
She loved to have 'themes' for her luncheons. I have a set of Hazel Atlas Cobalt Blue glasses that were hers...and a set of 'Fiesta' cobalt blue dishes (for everyday she mixed & matched the blue with yellow) She hand embroidered the sailboat design from the glasses onto the corners of the tablecloth which was white with cobalt blocks on the corners. Cobalt napkins with a white woven border completed the table setting. I have to admit I do use these napkins.
What am I saving them for?!!
I should be using them!

These are the glasses...now a steal on eBay. 10 years ago I saw a set in Mt. Doro, FL and they were $40. a glass.
