Like many, I will spend a good portion of my holidays with family in another state. I still wanted to dress up my own home but not quite to the extent as I sometimes do. I have a tinsel tree I bought a few years ago on eBay. As much as I love it, it is a lot of work to set up and take down. I decided to skip that this year, so instead I placed some of my favorite ornaments, a mix of vintage and new, around my house in uexpected places.
Little touches of color and glitter to the mantle and of course stockings for Atticus and I.
Vases become vessles for ornaments and these handpainted wooden Santas add some whimsy.
I like to keep this bookcase simple but sparkly, using the two vintage shell pottery pieces to hold ornaments and candy canes.
One of my favorite finds, three little vintage Santas made from pipe cleaners. I came across them a few years ago in a consignment store for just $2.
On my entry way table I hang a few small ornaments from some willow branches and set a few more in a little dish. I bought this retro inspired manniquin head from artist Marge Crunkleton at the Metrolina. It struck me as kind of cool folk art piece. Just added a little Santa hat and she is all set for the holidays.
