L.A. Street Story

My trip to my hometown ofLos Angeles was heavy with food photo opps, so this week on Pie may be extra tasty. Hope you're hungry!L.A. has a rich street food culture, you just have to know where to look. Be aware, you may have to wait in line, which I think is a good sign. Like the famousPinks hot dog stand (we waited for over an hour) on La Brea. Their tasty chili dogs have been around since 1939.
Short rib Sliders and Tacos from Kogi
My favorite by a good mile is, believe it or not, found on a truck, the very popularKogi BBQ. They give a unique korean spin to tacos, sliders and other more traditional fare. So worth tracking them down, which is not that hard since they have three trucks that travel all over the city. They update theirsite weekly or you can follow them (literally) ontwitter.

If you're headed over to theGrove then skip the fancy restaurants and head inside to theFarmers Market which has pretty much every thing you could want from sushi to some of the best mexican food in L.A. atLoteria Grill.
Daglas delivers the fry motherload I was told aboutDaglas by another foodie while waiting in line for theKogi truck to open. The "best fries in the city" he promised. Using fresh, hand cut potatoes they did not disappoint and the made to order, double cheese burger was not bad either.

LA really does have some great food places! I wish SD had great food places, but they're so few and far between.
