High Flying

I watched the excellent multi award winning filmUp in the Air over the weekend and was struck by the fantastic opening title sequence, an art onto itself. Director,Jason Reitman used the same team,Shadowplay Studios as on his previous filmJuno, which used a memorable blend of animation and live action.

What I loved in his newest film was the perfect blend of vintage style postcard graphics with a fantastic version of the classicThis Land is Your Land brilliantly reinvented bySharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

Up in the Air was such a great movie!! And you're right, the opening sequence was so retro and cool. I love when movies do something unique and/or cool in the opening. I feel like if I rent a movie, most of the time we just fast forward the opening credits!!
