Digging Deep

I live in a very old craftsman style duplex and recently they had to redo the foundation after finding much termite damage. They have found quite a few interesting items while doing the renovations.

There is something extra interesting in finding some history buried in the walls, plaster and clay of an old house. Should be no surprise that one of my favorite HGTV shows is "If Walls Could Talk".

The robot and horse I love and they tell me that at least one child lived here. The printers type, hints to an occupation. All the old bottles just make my heart zing.

That is awesome!!
What interesting finds and love this first image... so beautiful!
that is so cool, lara! and i love how you have lovingly documented them!
it's literally like finding buried treasure ... i would definitely be coming up with fantastical stories of the previous occupants
Lucky lady! We are tearing up our kitchen soon and I am hoping to find something great (our house was built in 1906) but I am pretty sure it will be a bust since the room was redone in the 1970's.
What a lovely surprise that must have been for you! Gorgeous photos x
