Cake on a Stick

I first heard about cake pops from my palShayla, who directed me to the blogBakerella by Angie Dudley. A very popular food blogger who has become best known for putting cake on a stick. She just released her first bookCake Pops and not only created the recipes but took all the lovely photos as well.

The balls of cake are molded from a combination of cake and frosting, then dipped into more frosting, making them extremely rich, sweet and tasty. The concept has become so popular that they are now being sold like cupcakes by some enterprising bakers. I found this one, called Oreo Truffle atSavi Urban Market in Inman Park. I was told they were made by "a lady from the neighborhood".
There is also a cute how to video on theAmazon page if you'd like to learn more.

She is so amazing. I'm a little obsessed.
Oh...I have to have this book!
How funny that you are posting about this now! My son, Wesley, just saw a picture of a cake pop yesterday and was amazed by it and I told him I have a site I need to show him. It was the Bakerella blog!
How fun, I have never heard of these.
I really like this post, thank you for your sharing!
