Extreme Bento-ing

Vintage tins can make charming bento boxes, whether for everyday or maybe a special spring picnic.

Grab a book, a blanket, your journal and pack a tasty lunch. Then head out to the backyard or over to a park or maybe your local botanical gardens.

I layered smoked ham, avocado and tomato on a buttermilk biscuit, leftover from Sunday brunch. A touch of dijon mustard adds a little zing.

Cute food picks add a little whimsy to a simple bowl of strawberries.

For dessert how about an oatmeal cookie & Nutella sandwich...! A yum.

Just for fun here is a look at the snack bento I made for a pool tournament I played in last weekend (finished 3rd). I like to have some healthy choices handy, cause I never know when I will have a break or when my blood sugar might drop. I especially love these mini wheels of goat cheese from Trader Joe's.

P.S. Don't miss on this weeks kawaii handbag giveaway, not much time left!

Lovely ideas... yum!
What fun! Since I've started reading your blog...I've been packing bento lunches for my daughter each day. She loves to see what surprises there are in there ;-)
Thank goodness i had dinner before I read your post or I'd be in the pantry for something sinful right now!
Smiles,
Diane
What a great idea for lunch...and a wonderful use for vintage tins. Looks like I will be having nicer lunches real soon.
Oh my goodness, these images are so beyond perfect and have me wishing I was still a little girl attending school, especially with that tin lunch box! ACK! That is one of the cuuutest things I have ever seen for lunch box options!
