Locally Grown

.

This great little eatery opened in my neighborhood maybe 6 months ago but I only decided to try it last week. Just a little corner shack on Foothill Blvd, adjacent to a Japanese restaurant I have also never tried. Zina's serves healthy Mediterranean style food. I tried a falafel "wrap" and it was served with some tasty pickled cabbage. The falafels were nicely spiced and wrapped with lettuce, tomato, red onion and a good zingy, tahini. I also liked the unsweetened ice tea, I suspect they make fresh. Great service too, I paid 11.00 total with tax & tip.

It so important to take the time and try new things. The photos are great too!

I agree, the time just flies though and it is easy to miss the obvious. Glad you like the pics, first post using pics using my new iPhone 5.

I drive by Zina's almost every day and I still haven't stopped by to check the place out, foolish me! The little sandwich board "maiden" never fails to catch my eye every time I cruise down Foothill Blvd. between where I live on Briggs to get to the Glendale Freeway. Hmm, I'm going to make it a point to stop by this Friday - my first day off.
