Change of ❤

I finally got a chance to work on a shoot I did before my move west with my friend Amy Chen. When we shot these, Amy was pursuing a career as a Professional Poolplayer. What a difference 8 months makes, not long after shooting these she put away her cues, moved to Florida and went back to school to study animation.

I was able to easily clone out the pool cue in the first shot, so she can use it for her new career. However because how she is holding the cue in this shot, it is not really possible. One day she may want to return to pool, many pro players have two careers, since pool rarely pays the bills. A pro player I knew said to me once, "It is a strange sport, you have have to work so hard for so little."

Of course I shot some variations without a cue at all. Always a good ideal to mix it up.

Great job of retouching, I would have never known. I love the photos and the one with the cue is very cool. I hope she does return to the sport, I watched her interview and it seemed like she really loved it.
Love this post. It is hard to give up something you love but at least it seems she is pursuing another passion. I wish her luck!
Love seeing your process. Beautiful portraits!
