Dress up a frozen dessert with a little fresh topping and everyone will think you made it from scratch.
I started with a tasty frozen pear tart from Trader Joe's and heated it up according to package directions. I then sliced some figs (you can use any fruit you like) and sautéed them for just a few minutes with a little butter and sugar.
Set the fruit aside to cool and once the tart has also cooled a bit just arrange on top and then dust with powder sugar & walla!
If you want to bring this to a gathering, I'd suggest just packing the topping separately and adding it the tart when you get there. Oh and a pretty cake stand doesn't hurt, I found this hand painted one at Anthropologie. Also a perfect bridal shower gift for my sweet niece Emily who loves to bake.
