Here is some exciting news! I've taken on the new role of Creative Director for my client and good friend, designer Lesley Evers. I began working with her 3 years ago, shooting all her look-book and advertising images. It actually feels like a natural evolution. Lesley loves my creative aesthetic and I hers, yes it's a very mutal love affair. Now I can implement my concepts from start to finish. Being able to see my vision all the way through to the end result is an amazing opportunity.
Lesley has spent the last year renovating her business plan, after the launch of her new flagship store in Rockridge, Oakland (walking distance from the Rockridge Bart station!) exceeded all expectations. She is now focusing on developing her brand, boosting her website sales and opening more stores. Her second in Lafayette opened in May. She is looking for other spaces in the bay area with eyes on the east coast as well.
On a popular corner of College Avenue the shop is full of charm while her mid-century flair comes through in both her designs and in the shops whimsical interiors. I love her many personal touches from the use of her original paintings to a pair of blue rabbits picked up at a flea market. Another big reason the stores have done well is the high quality of the garments themselves, when people see them in person it's an easy sell. Lesley uses all local garment makers so she can oversee every detail.
Our first project is already up! Just a snippet from a very fun shoot we did just last week, check out Lesley's Indian Summer Sale with huge discounts through Saturday. Then check back Sunday when our fall look-book goes live.
