New Leica Lust

Leica recently released the d-Lux 5 a super compact point & shoot with the heart of an SLR. I will be testing it out for the rest of this month and posting my results here on Pie.

 This is one mighty little guy and you can add an optional hand grip and/or view finder.

Here is the d-lux 5 on the left compared to the bulkier and heavier Canon G10.

One of the things I love best is the option for a square frame. Maybe it's because my camera of choice for many years was a Hasselblad. To me there is something about composing in a square that is just inherently  interesting. The macro ability on this lens is pretty incredible and best of all, it is affordable.
